Bukit Tabur West
🥾 Hiking Trails · Taman Melawati / Klang Gates, Ampang, Selangor
The western half of the Klang Gates quartz ridge, and for many hikers the purer 'dragon's back' experience: a knife-edge of white quartz with the Klang Gates reservoir on one side and the KL skyline on the other. It reopened under a permit-and-guide system after years of closure, so treat it with respect and go with a licensed guide.
Don't miss: Sunrise from the quartz crest with Klang Gates Dam glowing below and the Petronas Towers on the horizon

Sungai Pisang Waterfall Trail
🥾 Hiking Trails · Kampung Sungai Rumput, Batu 12 Gombak, Gombak, Selangor
Barely 30 minutes from the city, this river-wading trail runs through two old railway-style tunnels to a pretty jungle waterfall. It is more splash than climb, so it is a fun first jungle trek for friends who do not do mountains.
Don't miss: Walking through the tunnels with the river flowing beside you

Bukit Sri Bintang
🥾 Hiking Trails · Taman Sri Bintang, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur
Kepong's neighbourhood hill packs two peaks into a short loop, with the bald Peak 2 giving wide views over Desa ParkCity, the quarry and the KL skyline. It is free, gate-less and quick enough for a pre-work sweat, which is why the uncles and the trail runners are already coming down when you start.
Don't miss: The open 'botak' summit of Peak 2 at sunrise
