#25 Hiking Trails in Malaysia · 2026
Bukit Tabur West
🌺🌺🌺 Worth the Detour · 🥾 Hiking Trails
Why go
The western half of the Klang Gates quartz ridge, and for many hikers the purer 'dragon's back' experience: a knife-edge of white quartz with the Klang Gates reservoir on one side and the KL skyline on the other. It reopened under a permit-and-guide system after years of closure, so treat it with respect and go with a licensed guide.
⭐ Don't miss: Sunrise from the quartz crest with Klang Gates Dam glowing below and the Petronas Towers on the horizon

A no-fuss neighbourhood hill on KL's northeastern edge: walk up the old tarmac road for a steady sweat, or take the jungly Kazumi trail if you want roots and roots and more roots. The summit gives a clear look at KLCC and the Titiwangsa range.
Don't miss: The city view toward KLCC from near the summit
Bukit Batu Chondong
🥾 Hiking Trails · Kampung Kemensah, Ampang, Selangor
A tiny quartzite outcrop behind Zoo Negara that delivers a big-hill view for very little walking. The final scramble up the leaning rock is short but steep, so it feels like a mini Bukit Tabur without the all-day commitment.
Don't miss: Sunrise from the leaning quartzite summit rock looking back over Ampang and the KL skyline
