Templer's Park, Rawang, Selangor
Just half an hour from KL, Kanching is the classic seven-tier waterfall where generations of Klang Valley families have had their Sunday picnics. The sunrise hike everyone in the Klang Valley does at least once. Three small peaks, a soft climb and a sea of mist if you time it right, plus nasi lemak at the bottom after.

The jagged quartz ridge above KL, nicknamed the Dragon's Back. It is one of the most dramatic skyline trails in the country but it is regulated after serious accidents, so plan properly.

Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya, Selangor
